AIf you look closely at these pictures, you will see that these units are semi-detached units. This is a style of construction somewhat out of fashion in the London area over the last 10 or 15 years. But wait, these are semi-detached units built with a twist.

“Werrington Homes” built. In recent years this builder has built multiple new condo projects. In Kilworth they recently finished out the “Bungalows of Daventry” a 77 unit detached one floor bungalow complex. At that time, it was a large number of units to be building at such an outer edge of the city location. Yet it coincided with a period of time of when the markets were surging. These units ended up selling out as quickly as they could be built. Just prior to that, they built a 69 unit complex called “Bella Lago Estates” also in Kilworth.
What is the “building with a twist” reference we alluded to in the first paragraph? Well, there is a side door on each of these units which could be used as an entranceway into an optional lower level granny suite. Yes, the builder may opt to finish out the basement with a self-contained unit at an additional expense. These semi-styled units are built with raised ceiling heights in the basement with the potential of adding another 888 square feet of living space.
Is this style of building construction setting off alarms with the cities’ building department? Apparently not. This is a design style we may see more of going forward.
Units in this project have model names like: The Preston; The Berkshire; The Bradford and The Sherborne. Nine foot ceilings on the main. 2,073; 2,161 and 2,172 square feet of above ground living space. These are spacious sizes. Covered front entrances, covered rear decks, black shingles and eaves, black coloured garage doors and window trim, grey or brown brick and grey siding.
Three clusters (six units) were finished out in 2023 with work continuing into 2024 on additional units. More pictures and details to follow.
